HARROW Athletic Club’s Laura Turner continued her build up to the trials for the World Championships by winning the South of England title at Watford on Saturday, writes Tony Bush.

The Commonwealth Games sprint relay gold medallist won the 100m event in a fast 11.60 and later took the 200 metres in 24.05. Veteran Angela Mitchell placed fifth in the discus with 36.22m.

Meanwhile, Marlon Hogg-Williams was in good form at the Youth Development League fixture at Reading, taking the under 15 sprint double in fast times of 11.8 and 24.0.

Jaiden Aaron matched this double in the under 13 events, clocking 12.5 and 25.1

Stephanie Broomhead won the under 15 pole vault with 3.20m while Ellie Chandler took the hammer with a good 34.37m.
