UWE Rosler believes his Brentford side shoved Karl Robinson's taunts back down his throat with this afternoon's superb win at Milton Keynes Dons.
After December's 3-3 draw at Griffin Park, Dons boss Robinson irked the Bees by comparing them to the Wimbledon side of old, suggesting negative football.
But all the football was played by Brentford as they frustrated the Dons to earn a 2-1 victory at Stadium MK.
Rosler said: “That meant a lot to us. I have not forgotten what my colleague said after the 3-3 game, when he compared us to Wimbledon.
“I regard MK Dons as the best footballing side in this league, but today we restricted them to long balls, while we stuck to our short passing game.
“We were not lucky winners, it was well deserved. We were clearly the better team in then first half, and confidence is flowing through the side now.
“The penalty was a present for them, and it made it a bit more exciting in the last few minutes, but we battled to the end.”
