KEEPING his squad together will be the challenge over the summer, admitted Uwe Rosler following Brentford's play-off final defeat.

Bees boss Rosler's talented young side may have come up short against Yeovil, but many of his players have drawn admiring glances this season.

Rosler revealed he will get straight back to work tomorrow in an effort to fend off the vultures and keep his side in tact for another promotion challenge next season.

He said: “The challenge will be to keep the squad together. If we can do that, we will be fighting for promotion again next season.

“The owner came into the dressing room afterwards and found some encouraging words for me and the players for next season. My work will now start tomorrow morning to secure the players.

“I think the players will look back at the season, and what we have been through, and see that Brentford is a good place to be.

“We have taken this club to a new level, but that last step is always the hardest to take. However, it will be just the start of a new thing to come next year.

“My players will use it as a motivation. We will learn from the massive experience we have had this season. This team does not know how to give up.

“What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and this team is hungry anyway in terms of motivation.”
