UXBRIDGE star Matt Woods has been granted leave from the club for personal reasons.

Woods (pictured) missed Reds’ two FA Trophy matches with Canvey Island and continues to sit out due to off-the-field issues.

Boss Tony Choules has revealed the former AFC Hayes striker has been granted time away from football but is confident he will pull on the Red shirt again soon.

Choules said: “Matty Woods has issues that he needs to address. I’d like to think he would be out for just another couple of weeks. We’ve missed him.

“It’s a business/personal matter and the club have given him their blessing to go away and get things sorted. We’ve still got Nicke Kabamba, who had been scoring goals for fun until this weekend, and Chris Moore has been doing very well.

“From the conversations I have had with Matty, he is very much committed to Uxbridge Football Club. He has no interest, in any way, shape or form of going to any other team. He has 100 per cent assured me it is issues he needs to address.

“I am 100 per cent confident he will be back.”
