HAYES and Yeading United boss Garry Haylock has sounded a battle cry to his players, urging them not to rest on their laurels in the Blue Square South playoffs.

Haylock's side secured fourth place with a 5-0 thumping of Fisher Athletic last weekend (see page 55 for match report and reaction) and he and his players are now waiting to discover whether they will play Hampton and Richmond Borough or Eastleigh in the play-off semi-final.

They will host the first leg next Tuesday before travelling for the second leg on May 2.

On Saturday, United host Bognor Regis Town in their final game before that showdown and Haylock wants his charges to keep their feet on the ground and show the guile and steel required to prevail.

"If we want to win things we've got to win the big games," said the manager. "I'm quite happy with our performances going into the semi-final and we're fully prepared. We know what we've got to do and the players are fully focused."

He was delighted with Saturday's humbling of Fisher and insists there is more to come from his team: "We hit the bar and post a few times and we should have scored seven or eight," he added.
