MyLocalPitch.com, a new sports venue booking website based in Brent, is aiming to increase participation and preserve the Olympic legacy for the borough.

Founders Jamie Foale and Sandford Loudon are simplifying the process of locating sports venues after findings by Sport England and their recent Active People Survey revealed that sports participation has dropped considerably after the spike immediately following the games.

The report found that almost a quarter (24.9%) of people surveyed in Brent cited a lack of opportunities as the primary reason for the decline.

Government funding has gone some way towards boosting sports participation and MyLocalPitch.com will now continue the challenge through effective, targeted marketing on behalf of the sports venues. The aim is to provide users with complete information of sport in London, and by using the website Brent’s sports players have better access to over 50 venues with nearly 167 separate facilities.

Until now sports players in the borough have faced the problem of it taking too much time to organise a sporting activity, and with MyLocalPitch.com's innovative approach this issue has been consigned to the history books.

Jamie Foale, co-founder of MyLocalPitch.com, said: “We believe finding and booking a sports venue should be as easy as booking a restaurant. Our site will help millions around London enjoy sport and allow the Olympic legacy to inspire a generation.”
