SWIMMING: The annual Burns meet at Sheffield's international pool produced some great results for Ealing Swimming Club - with 13 of the club's senior swimmers bringing back three golds, four silvers, five bronze medals and four new club breaststroke records.

Charlie Turner, just back in the water after an ankle injury, won the open 100m freestyle and came second in the 50m.

Although his times of 51.82 and 23.38 were not his best, they showed he is back on track

for qualifying for the British World Championship team in June.

Also gold medal winners were the other Turners in the Ealing squad - sisters Lauren and Jenna. Jenna shone in the 16/17 freestyle events, winning the 100m, coming second in the 50m and taking eighth place in the 200m.

Lauren echoed this success in the 14/15 age group where she won the 100m freestyle, came second in the 50m backstroke and was third in both the 50m

freestyle and the 100m backstroke.

Georgina Heyn had an excellent meet, winning the open 200m breaststroke and coming

second in the 50m breaststroke - both in times that are new club records. She also won silver in the 100m breaststroke and the 50m freestyle and came fourth in the 100m freestyle.

Chris Jones produced outstanding performances in the open 50m and 100m breaststroke to gain second places - and two more fresh entries in the club's record books.

He also achieved a new record in the 200m breaststroke, where he made fifth place.

Kyle Barrett had good results in the 17/18 years backstroke events, coming third in the 100m and fifth in the 200m. He also claimed sixth place in the 200m medley.

Ella Kirby won the bronze

medal in the 17/18 50m breaststroke and came fifth in the 100m, while Tariq Miller came third in the 100m breaststroke.

Polly Kemp King came fifth in the 16/17 50m freestyle and eighth in the 50m butterfly.

Finally, the club's Olympian Joao Mathias, who already has his ticket to the World Cham-pionships as part of the Angolan team, came sixth in the 50m butterfly and eighth in the 50m backstroke. Katie Sims was eighth in the 14/15 50m butterfly.
