Martin Gould is just one match away from securing his World Snooker Championship debut at Sheffield's iconic Crucible.

The Pinner Potter survived a late ralley to beat Tamworth's Dave Gilbert 10-8 in his second qualifying match. Despite a classy 65 break Gould looked shaky as Gilbert won five of the seven frames at the beginning of the final session, but he held his nerve to edge a step closer to one of his long held ambitions.

The last qualifying round will be held in the city's English Institute of Sport between Sunday and Tuesday.
