AFTER 20 years of trying, Pattie Barratt has finally won Pinner Hill Golf Club ladies section's prestigious Hawkins Cup competition.
The trophy was originally presented in 1940, and 10 former winners were in the field for this year's 27-hole medal event.
After a tough morning's play, Annette Fordham led with a nett 76, followed by Kate Bishop on 77, with three other players close up on 78.
In the afternoon positions changed dramatically as last year's winner Ju Kim moved up to second on 116, only to be beaten by Pattie Barratt on 115.5.
With kind weather and the course in good condition, the participants enjoyed the day, which finished with dinner and presentations.
