MIDDLESEX PREMIER LEAGUE DIVISION ONE Sri Lankan Cavaliers 132 Rajput Samaj 134-4 Rajput Samaj won by six wickets

PRATIK PATEL starred with bat and ball as Rajput Samaj kept up the unbeaten start to their title defence at home to Sri Lankan Cavaliers on Saturday.

Patel (3-33) and team-mate Hiren Desai (3-16) were the chief destroyers as the Cavaliers collapsed to 132 all out, after being 48-0.

The Rajput opener then made sure there would be no jitters chasing a small target by making 40.

And with fellow batsman Bharat Damania going on to top score with 45, the hosts reached their target in the 28th over.

Saturday's Middlesex Champion-ship match against New Calypsonians was a very similar story, with the opposition making a promising start before crumbling to 105 all out.

Bharat Patel took 4-13, while Damania bagged 3-15.

Rajput made an awful start to the run chase and were soon 25-3, but that was the cue for Nilesh Patel to hit an unbeaten half-century to ease his side home by seven wickets.
