KEVIN O'Connor has penned a new two-year contract to keep him at Brentford until 2011.

The Chronicle revealed recently that the 27-year-old utility man was set to extend his stay at Griffin Park, and the club captain has made sure he's around to lead them into League One.

O'Connor made 28 appearances last season before missing the run-in through injury, and has played 351 games in total for the Bees, scoring 34 goals.

Meanwhile, the club has confirmed Brentford will field a reserve side next season.

The second string will compete in the Totesport.com Combination, facing the likes of Queens Park Rangers, Crystal Palace, Leyton Orient and Millwall.
