SIMON Moore (pictured) will want to forget this afternoon in a hurry after the Brentford keeper's blunder handed Sheffield United their crucial second goal at Griffin Park.

The Bees fell behind just five minutes in when a slip by Shaleum Logan proved fatal as Ched Evans took full advantage and fired past Moore to put the visitors in front.

Leon Legge missed a golden chance to equalise seven minutes later when a Sam Saunders free-kick fell to him unmarked in the area, but the Bees' centre-back, looking like he didn't expect the ball tor reach him, miscued and ended up pretty much passing back to visiting keeper Steve Simonsen

The Bees had a massive let off eight minutes before the break when Moore made a complete hash of a long ball forward, trying to head it clear under pressure but completely missing, gifting an open goal to Evans, who fortunately somehow screwed wide.

But Moore made amends minutes later with a brilliant point-blank save from Chris Porter's header from a Will Hoskins cross after his back four were caught short appealing for an offside which was never given.

On the stroke of half time, Clayton Donaldson was waiting to pounce on a dangerous cross from Toumani Diaogouraga, but Matt Hill cleared in the nick of time, while Simonsen nicked a teasing Jake Bidwell cross off Donaldson's head.

Four minutes after the restart it was 2-0 as Moore's poor goal kick was latched onto by Evans, who brought it straight back, rounded the prone Bees keeper and slotted into an empty net.

Moore made amends of sorts soon after with a fine stop from Chris Porter after the Blades sliced through the Bees' defence, while Saido Berahino forced Simonsen into a good stop at the other end.

Brentford created a series of half-chances as the game petered out, but never really troubled Simonsen enough, while the visitors, to their credit, defended resolutely.

With full-time approaching, Moore made a good save with his feet from Evans, but it may not be enough to stop Richard Lee regaining the number one spot.

BEES: Moore, Logan, Dean (Osborne 75), Legge, Bidwell, Saunders (McGinn 35), Diagouraga, Douglas, Forshaw (Weston 53), Donaldson, Berahino. Subs not used: Lee, Thompson
