Ram Marwa scored his third goal in as many games as Hayes & Yeading United were held at home by struggling Barrow today (Saturday). After a drab first half, which saw just a few half chances fall to Marwa, James Mulley and Danny Allen-Page, United started the second period with gusto and their patience was rewarded in the 64 th minute.

Allen-Page whipped the ball in from the right and Marwa instinctively arced back and beat Tim Deasy with a superbly executed bicycle kick from 12 yards. It was the Norwegian-born midfielder's fourth goal if the season and third in the space of eight days – his brace secured the 2-1 Good Friday victory over Oxford United.

However, the hosts failed to build on the lead and Barrow levelled the scores with 12 minutes left. Bluebirds substitute Gregg Blundell twisted and turned down the right before delivering the ball to the far post where the unmarked Phil Bolland headed past stranded United goalkeeper Clark Masters.

United substitute Andrejs Stolcers went close from 30 yards late before Adam Green almost got the better of Deasy in injury time.

United: Masters, Allen-Page, Green, Cadmore (cpt), Ruby, Marwa, Mulley, Canham, Little (Wishart, 80), Harris (Stolcers, 67), Basham (Ide, 53). Attendance: 312.
