FORMER Brentford star Mark Phillips is trying to earn a deal at Wycombe Wanderers.

The no-nonsense centre-back had been training with Southend United after being released by Bees boss Andy Scott earlier this summer.

But he pitched up at Wycombe in a pre-season friendly win against Chesham United last night, along with former team-mates Nikki Bull, Danny Foster and Ben Strevens , who have already made the switch to Adams Park.

Meanwhile, Chairboys boss Garry Waddock has still not ruled out a move for Brentford defender Alan Bennett , who has a year remaining on his contract at Griffin Park .
