THE Holy Grail of 50 points is going to have to wait.

A frustrating afternoon at the Crown Ground should have left Dons regal and ready for a second guaranteed season in League Two – in the end they were royally done by a moment to forget.

Having levelled through Luke Moore, the chances came thick and fast for boss Terry Brown’s men – only for a rare Accrington attack with eight minutes left to make the journey a miserable one for the 307 travelling faithful.

With less than a minute on the clock, Moore’s superb turn and low shot brought an equally decent stop from keeper Ian Dunbavin.

But any early hope was shattered straight after when Bobby Grant’s free-kick proved too hot for Seb Brown and the loose ball was turned in by Luke Joyce.

A volley from Christian Jolley (pic) nearly brought parity – but it was the man that started the Dons show who made it 1-1.

Rashid Yussuf brought the ball down in one movement before supplying Moore at the back post to smash the ball into the roof of the net.

Grant’s near thing from a powerful header proved there was plenty of mileage left in the game, and just after the break Jolley’s second volley was inches over.

The next time he threatened the Stanley goal his stopovers bamboozled the defence before his low drive rattled the base of the post.

Jack Midson also went close but as the game ebbed and flowed Mat Mitchell-King’s clearance as Jamie Devitt was about to pull the trigger proved a game saver.

Midson’s header drifted wide of the far post as Dons asked questions but sadly Stanley had the answer.

Poor defending allowed Grant to pick out Will Hatfield inside the box to fire past the helpless Brown.

Sub Byron Harrison then spurned a gilt-edged chance to salvage a point as he tried to turn but stumbled and only ended scuffing his shot and any chance of a decent drive back down the M6.
