BRENTFORD'S loan stars have given a massive boost to boss Andy Scott by giving the green light to extend their stays in west London.

With James Wilson and Rhys Murphy – who arrived from Arsenal on Tuesday - already tied to the Bees until the new year, Scott could lose Wojciech Szczesny, Pim Balkestein and John Bostock (pictured) when their one-month deals expire next month.

But the trio would be happy to stay at Griffin Park – if their bosses let them.

Arsenal shot-stopper Szczesny, 19, said: "I'm probably fourth choice at Arsenal, which I'm not happy with. That's why I'm here, I want to prove I'm better than that and return to Arsenal after a month or more.

"If it's okay with Arsene Wenger I'll be happy to stay here."

The Polish keeper has been solid between the sticks in the absence of fellow loanee Lewis Price, while centre-half Balkestein has been equally impressive since his arrival from Ipswich Town.

The 22-year-old Dutchman has not played for the Tractor Boys since September, and would stay put in west London – unless another Championship side comes calling.

"I was out for three months so it was good to get some football again," he said.

"I've only been here a week and if I like it here I'm going to stay, but it depends if another club in the Championship want me."

Meanwhile, Spurs starlet Bostock hopes his stint in League One can catapult him into Harry Redknapp's first-team plans at White Hart Lane.

He said: "I want to knock down the door to the Spurs first team. I've been playing regularly for the reserves but it's great to get some proper games under my belt, that's why I came here, for league experience.

"It's not just for me to decide whether I stay, so we'll see what happens."
