JACK Midson has pleaded with AFC Wimbledon boss Terry Brown to stick with a traditional 4-4-2 formation at home to Burton Albion on Saturday.

The Dons' top scorer admits he has felt somewhat isolated up top of late when Brown has played him as a lone striker with another playing off him.

And the 20-goal man believes playing two up front is the best way to take three points off the Brewers.

He said: “I think 4-4-2 suits us better, and I hope we play that way on Saturday rather than just me up there with Luke Moore tucking in behind.

“It gives us a lot more width, and I reckon throwing someone like Byron Harrison or Christian Jolly in there too would make us a lot more dangerous.”

Midson also believes it is only a matter of time before Harrison, who has gone 11 games without a goal since becoming AFC's record signing, hit the goal trial.

He added: “It's not hard to see how good Byron is – he just needs that one goal to get off the mark and the goals will start flowing for him – and the same goes for Christian too.”
