HARLEE Dean revealed he snubbed a string of Championship clubs for the lure of first-team football at Brentford.

The Bees completed the signing of the Southampton defender on a two-year contract this week, along with Everton midfielder Adam Forshaw, who also signed a deal to keep him at Griffin Park until 2014.

Dean made 28 appearances in red and white since joining on loan from the Saints back in November.

Uwe Rosler handed the 20-year-old his League One debut, and Dean insists he wants to repay his new boss.

He said: “I've wanted to get my future sorted for a while but went to speak to a few other clubs.

“There were a few Championship clubs sniffing around, but I didn't want to go somewhere that I might not have played.

“At my age the most important thing is to be playing regularly and hopefully I can do that at Brentford.

“No one wants to be stuck playing in the reserves. I'm an ambitious person and I feel Brentford match my ambition.”
