DONS boss Terry Brown has made skipper Jamie Stuart available for loan.

The no-nonsense centre-back has failed to make the squad for the past three games after a string of poor performances.

Brown has since bolstered his squad with the loan signing of Brentford defender Pim Balkestein , and he admits Stuart is unlikely to play again in a blue shirt.

He said: “We've had a chat with Jamie, but we have to get safe first before we let him go out on loan.

"There's been a number of enquiries from other League Two clubs."

Stuart has made more than 50 appearances for the club since his move from Rushden last year, leading the Dons to promotion back to the Football League.

And Brown admits he's indebted to the 35-year-old for his contribution to the club.

He added: “Jamie's been a fantastic servant for the club. We wouldn't have won promotion without him.”
