DAVID Hunt has vowed to fill the void left by crocked captain Kevin O'Connor .
The midfielder took the armband in O'Connor's absence for Brentford's goalless draw with Exeter on Monday.
But the Bees skipper still faces at least another fortnight on the sidelines with a foot injury, and Hunt, who has also led Northampton and Shrewsbury in the past, is happy to fill in.
He said: "It was a great honour. I was really surprised and I know my family will be proud as well.
"I was overwhelmed when the gaffer told me. Everyone knows that Kev's the captain, but I'll do it again if I'm asked."
However, Hunt couldn't inspire the Bees to victory at Griffin Park , and admits a run of nine games in the last month is taking its toll.
"We're disappointed," he added. "It wasn't the best of games – the lads are tired.
"But we take the positives from it, and we're glad to get a clean sheet."
