EVEN Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark admitted their crucial first goal against Brentford on Saturday was a dodgy one.

Brentford were 2-0 up at the Galpharm and dominating when Alan Lee first backed into Richard Lee, then raised his arm to the Bees keeper's face, before bundling both him and the ball into the net.

With that stroke of luck allowing the host a foothold in the game they never previously had, they came back to win 3-2, but Clark admitted his side were fortunate.

He said: “I think 99 times out of 100 the keeper gets the decision when something like that happens, and Uwe (Rosler) was understandably very upset. It's very unique that the attacking player gets a decision like that.

“We would have been happy pulling one goal back before half time, never mind two, and that gave us the energy to come back into it.

“I can understand Uwe's frustrations, and as a fellow manager, I have every sympathy with him. Brentford passed the ball well and peppered it around.

“They had the chance to make it 3-0, and if (Marcus) Bean had scored it would have made it game over, as we would not have come back from that.”
