Hounslow Indoor Bowls Club's Lew Johnman, John Geeves, Ron Leleux and David Pitt claimed the national over 60s fours championships at Nottingham on Sunday – their first national title.
They cruised to victory in the semi finals over Adur, triumphing 25-18 to set up a semi final against Malvern Hills.
The semi final was one-sided as they defeats Hills, skippered by Scottish international Edric Vorsterman, by 23 points to eight.
It meant they faced home side Nottingham in the final, who had cruised to the showdown as well; beating Norfolk 23-16 and Cumbria 20-5.
Geeves, Leleux, Johnman and Pitt read the trick of rink four far better than their opponents, local men John Beckett, Gren Foulds, Ronnie Cowan and John Mildren, who regard the rink as one of the most difficult in the club.
Hounslow were 12-2 ahead after ten ends, and kept a firm grip, though they looked worried when they dropped a four on the 18th end to allow Nottingham to close to 14-11 but were able to hold on to claim the victory and their first title, although the women have won the Yetton Trophy twice.
