Old Merchant Taylors' Hockey Club will be hoping for a barnstorming start to the season with all six sides in action this week.

Following a successful pre-season, the four Mens teams will be looking to build on their pre-season triumphs, with the first and second teams losing only one game between them.

The Mens team will have a new duo at the helm in head of hockey Richard Alexander (ex-England and GB) and coach Mike Penny, who may look to incorporate a more dynamic approach to the game.

And with a new crop of Old Boys returning from university, a rejuvenated OMTs will be looking to take full advantage of the fresh legs.

With the Ladies beating old rivals Eastcote in pre-season, the signs are promising on the eve of the new Hockey season.

Following the success of the inaugural Ladies team, who won their league in their debut season, a newly formed second team - the "OMT Countesses" - will be looking to make a strong start to their campaign.
