Eastcote 1st XI thrashed Old Merchant Taylors' 11-1 on Saturday to claim the first of two wins over the weekend.

Sunday saw a tighter affair as the side travelled to Norwich in the EH Trophy Round 3 only to be held to a draw before emerging victorious on penalties.

After a slow first half against OMT, Eastcote stepped up a gear in the second half as the reds ran in 8 second half goals, including 7 in a single 12 minute period.

Kevin Haigh was outstanding with six goals while Alex Stobbart, Sam Forman, David Cooper, James O’Shea and Peter Brooks all chipped in with one each.

The fatigue was obvious the next day as they played out a scrappy game in their hunt for a quarter final place.

David Cooper scored the only goal as the game finished 1-1 before Mark Welch was the hero in the penalty shoot-out saving the penultimate Norwich penalty.

The 2nd team had a roller coaster game drawing 3-3 with Ramgharia after falling 3-1 behind, Gabriel Emery found the net twice while Dan O’Sullivan pitched in with the other.

The 3rds lost 4-1 at Wycombe while table topping 4ths hammered Aylesbury 13-2 with the aid of five from Motta Biku.

Both the 5ths and the 6ths suffered defeat while the Old Boars beat Reading 3-1, but the Past Masters went down 4-0 against the same opposition.

It looks like a relegation battle for the Ladies 1sts as they lost again in the league, this time 2-0 at home to Oxford. Elsewhere the Ladies 2s and 4s both secured victory while the 3s narrowly lost out to Southgate.
