Hillingdon Manor 241 Aldershot 233 (Manor won by eight runs)

DALE Morris was just nine runs short of his century as Hillingdon won a dramatic game against Aldershot on Saturday.

Defending a total of 241, Manor were staring defeat in the face with their opponents at 187-3 with 15 overs left.

But some superb bowling from Adam Seymour (3-43) and Stephen Duce (3-41) sparked a superb collapse, with Scott Morris taking the final wicket with just three balls to spare.

Earlier, Hillingdon got off to a flyer, with Morris (91) and Dave Huntley (29) putting on 112 for the first wicket.

Skipper Simon Webb continued his recent good form with 25, while Azim Karim and Zab Akram put on 50.

Meanwhile, Aftab Akram smashed an unbeaten century as the second string cruised to victory against Cove.

They recovered from the loss of skipper Julian Corbin in the first over to post a challenging 269-3.

When Cove replied, Giles Harper picked up two early wickets and the veteran Gary Smith ran through the middle order to pick up 3-20, but some doughty resistance took the game into the last hour before the final wicket fell.

Elsewhere, the third XI stormed to a massive 189-run victory at Farnham Common.

Star man Tim Barrat made 81 and took three catches behind the wicket, while Gulam Sherali made 42 in a massive total that Farnham could never have hoped to emulate.

They were skittled out for 82 against the withering pace of Matt Read, who picked up 5-24.
