Highly rated midfielder David Hicks has joined Wealdstone from Ryman League Division One North side Cheshunt FC.

The 22-year-old former Spurs trainee had Coca Cola Football League experience with Northampton Town where he made five first team appearances before being transferred to Blue Square Premier outfit Stevenage Borough.

Hicks, who also had a spell with Hornchurch, linked up with Cheshunt in September 2006 where Stones manager Gordon Bartlett has been impressed with his creative midfield play and passing ability.

Said Bartlett: "With Cheshunt relegated last season David, understandably, wants to continue to play at step three level, and I am very pleased that he has agreed to come to Wealdstone.

"He is a talented and energetic midfield player who is an excellent play maker and he will be a strong addition to the squad."
