HAYES & Yeading made it back-to-back wins as they cruised to victory against 10-man Chelmsford City on Saturday.

The hosts took a deserved lead eight minutes before the break when Dean Inman met Tom Bird's corner to power home a close-range header for his second goal of the campaign.

Hayes were handed a further boost on the stroke of half-time when City striker Jeff Goulding was given his marching orders for a second yellow following a rash tackle on Frankie Merrifield.

United made their one-man advantage count in stoppage-time when Kelvin Bossman crossed for Merrifield to slot the ball past Tommy Forecast into the bottom corner.

Chelmsford skipper Mark Hughes almost handed the visitors a lifeline in the second period when his wayward cross bounced off the top of the bar.

However, any hope of a fightback was extinguished just two minutes later when Jake Reid (pictured) was hauled down in the box by Danny Webb before the United man picked himself up to fire home the spot-kick.

Hayes wrapped up victory late on when Inman met another Bird corner to complete a fine win for Phil Babb's men.
