United manager Garry Haylock is sweating on the fitness of striker Steve Basham ahead of Saturday's game.

The on-loan forward missed the Easter Monday defeat at Crawley Town with a calf injury and his condition is due to be assessed in training tonight (Thursday). Skipper Tom Cadmore is available but Craig Watkins is sidelined with a shin problem.

Haylock said: "Steve might not even train tonight - it might be the case he trains on Saturday."

Barrow face Kidderminster Harriers tonight before making the long trip south, but Haylock is taking nothing for granted.

"We cannot afford to concentrate on other teams are what they are doing," he added. "We have got to focus on ourselves and what we are trying to do. We are good enough, it is just down to whether the players believe it."

Our prediction: Barrow are scrapping for their lives to stay above the drop zone and Thursday's exertions could benefit United, who should run out 2-0 winners.
