Garry Haylock praised his Hayes & Yeading United players after they turned over promotion-chasing Oxford United less than a week after suffering humilation at Luton Town.

The 8-0 defeat at Kenilworth Road was a bitter pill to swallow for Haylock and his charges, but they put in one of their best displays of the season to complete a league double over Oxford at Church Road yesterday (Good Friday).

"It's was good reaction but I would not have expected anything less," said the United boss. "At the end of the Luton game I made sure we got pictures of the scoreboard and all the players got a copy in training. I have got one in my office too. You have to remember the bad times because if you don't you won't appreciate the good times. You do not get too carried away when things go well and you do not get too down when things go badly.

"Last week was a bad defeat but we only lost three points - we did not get relegated on it. We have moved on and we have put in a good performance."
