HAYES & Yeading are refusing to rule out a return for John Goddard.
The former Reading youngster was reportedly an interested spectator in the crowd on Saturday as he watched United thump Chelmsford City.
Goddard had previously stated his desire to write a new chapter in his career and indicated to manager Phil Babb that he wanted to move up the ladder.
A trial at Woking followed before an injury and difficulties in sorting out a deal with the Cards, leaving Goddard without a club at the start of the campaign.
Goddard’s presence at Kingfield at the weekend heightened expectations among supporters that the midfielder could be close to making a Hayes & Yeading comeback.
But while sources close to the club have indicated they remain open to the prospect of a reunion, it would appear there is no imminent return for the ex-Royals starlet.
Both Hayes & Yeading and Woking have put offers on the table for Goddard during pre-season but he is yet to agree terms with either club.
