HAYES & Yeading are hoping to seal the signing of Bradley Pritchard after the attacking midfielder's return from South Africa.

Manager Garry Haylock held talks with 24-year-old Pritchard yesterday with a view to clinching the deal and the club could announce his signature later this week.

Pritchard has turned down an offer to re-sign for Blue Square Premier rivals Tamworth in favour of a move to Church Road.”

“He is one of a number of players that I have spoken to,” said Haylock. “I do like him as a player and I would say that it is more likely that it will be done that not.”

Sections of the Hayes & Yeading faithful have become anxious about the club's lack of signings so far this summer, but Haylock has had his fingers burnt in previous transfer dealings and so remains cautious about discussing new arrivals.

“I could give you 10 names that we could sign this week, but I will not do this until deals are done,” he added. “We had this problem with Steve Basham as he was about to sign a deal with us, but he then went and signed for Luton Town.

“I am very pleased with the quality of players that we have got in and there are other players still to come.”
