Two Hammersmith athletes managed personal bests at the London Regional Weightlifting competition.

Flavian Suka, following a fifth place finish at the British Schools and Youth Championships, held at Odlbury Academy in the West Midlands, in March, came third overall, with three personal bests along the way, whilst Max Partridge made an impressive debut - snatching 75 kilograms, and lifting 100 kilograms in the Clean and Jerk.

The meet was held at Woking Leisure Centre, April 19, at which several athletes from the Stars for the Future team managed personal bests. The club, who train under Kazem Panjavi, a former professional and international-level weightlifter, was recently awarded British Weightlifting Association team of the year, and is based in Barnhill.
