FOUR members of the Hillingdon School of Gymnastics will repre-sent the capital at the British Finals following good performances in the London Regional British Grades Championships, hosted by the Heathrow club.

Up and coming eight-year-old, Rosheen Hinze, gave an excellent display to win the silver medal in the Compulsory Level Four Championships and book her place on the team for the national finals in May.

Charlotte Newell, 16, will join her there after she became the club's only other competitor to win a medal, claiming bronze in Club Grade Five.

Amy Myers, 13, and 12-year-old Ava Daruwalla completes the quartet.

Myers finished fourth in Club Grade Six and Daruwalla was fifth in Club Grade Seven and their coaches, Irina Kozyreva, Nicola Owen and Tania Swallow, now face a battle to ensure their charges are able to train hard enough to prepare properly for the championships.

The club is in court next week when they hope to win permission to stay in their premises which Hillingdon Council is trying to close down.

All 23 girls taking part at Heathrow gained passes in their grade including six girls who were competing for the first time, in Grade 14, with Charlotte Mitchell claiming a promising eighth out of 50.

Nine-year-old Megan Devenish finished fourth in Grade 12 and team-mate Stephanie Cole was also fourth in Grade 11.

The club also sent teams to Belgium to take part in the HSG Capital Cup competition hosted by the KIT Ypres Gym Club, with whom HSG have had close links for 34 years.

HSG won the girls event and KIT Ypres took the boys title and HSG are due to return to Belgium in April for the Lucien Mus Memorial Cup.
