HARROW stunned Old Millhillians with a 48-3 romp in the first round of the North West Middlesex Floodlit Cup.

Their opponents, from two divisions higher, were immediately playing catch up when Harrow skipper Hywel Gosling darted through the middle of the park unchallenged to cross the whitewash.

More quick ball-play led to Callum Smith scoring their second try before Old Millhillians replied with a penalty.

However, further tries from Gosling and Dave Beatley, both converted by Gosling, gave Harrow a commanding 24-3 half-time lead.

Harrow increased the tempo again in the second half and their opponents had no answer to the fitness of their dominant pack and pace of the back-line.

A good move off the base of the scrum saw Dave Ross win the foot race to the ball from a chip through by Gary Conroy before replacement Jimmy Rowlands jinked his way over for a converted try.

Smith scored his second of the afternoon with Gosling adding the extras before Rowlands struck again late on.

This Saturday Harrow resume league duties at Southgate.
