BRENTFORD striker Antonio German has joined League One rivals Gillingham for an undisclosed fee.

The former QPR frontman was due to be out of contract at the end of the month after rejecting a new deal at Griffin Park.

German spent a successful spell with the Gills last campaign, scoring one goal in seven appearances to help them to the League Two title.

The Chronicle revealed in May that Gillingham were interested in signing the 21-year-old on a permanent basis.

And a deal has now been struck after the Kent club agreed a compensation package for the Harlesden-born hitman.

German scored one goal in seven first-team appearances for Brentford.
