ZDENEK Grygera will go under the knife next month as he starts the long road to recovery following his knee injury.

The Fulham full-back ruptured his cruciate ligaments after getting his studs stuck in the turf during last week's defeat to Spurs.

The injury is likely to keep the Czech out for the rest of the season.

“He will have an operation in December,” said boss Martin Jol . “It's the worst injury in football, so he won't be back until May, but it could be later than that.

“He only had a one-year deal at this club, so it's an awful situation for him.”
