DAVID Stockdale has left the door open to return to Ipswich Town once Mark Schwarzer gets back to fitness.

The Fulham number two was recalled from his loan spell at the Championship club last night after Schwarzer was ruled out for up to six weeks with a spinal injury.

Stockdale made 18 appearances for the Tractor Boys and was due to stay at Portman Road until the end of the season.

But he has refused to rule out returning to Ipswich once Schwarzer is fit.

“There may be a chance of me coming back," Stockdale said.

"That's not really up to me and at the moment I just want to concentrate on getting back and doing my best for Fulham.

"If the chance came for me to come back and it suited all parties then it is definitely something I'd look into though.

"Fulham have got some big games coming up - especially Man Utd and Chelsea - so I want to do well and show people what I've learned at Ipswich and show what I've been doing in games and training.”
