MARTIN Jol admitted his Fulham side made it too easy for Manchester United as they were thumped 5-0 at home by the Red Devils.

Danny Welbeck, Ryan Giggs and Nani set United on their way before moments of brilliance from Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov completed the rout.

Jol said: “If you have eight attempts on goal like they had and they scored five goals it’s not good. I think we got too bothered with the screening and doubling up on the flanks.

“In the first-half we weren’t good enough. It was too easy and it doesn’t show if you lose 5-0 but it was a lot better for 35 minutes [in the second-half] and we could’ve scored, 3-1 or 3-2 would’ve been a lot better.”

Fulham now travel to Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day after Chelsea confirmed that the clash would go ahead despite an impending Tube strike.
