BEDFONT Green have completed the signing of former Brentford striker Charlie Ide.

The 21-year-old has drifted between a number of non-league clubs since being released by the Bees two years ago, having scored seven goals in 46 games.

The once promising prospect has turned out for the likes of Grays Athletic, Wivenhoe Town, Croydon Athletic and Carshalton Athletic in recent times, and a spell at Chertsey Town back in November lasted just one game.

But Green, whose chairman is former Brentford director Doug White, are hoping they can finally find a settled home for Ide’s wayward genius.

They are currently mid-table in the Zamaretto League Division One S&W, their first season at their highest-ever level.

Green , who hope to announce another exciting signing this week, are due to play at Hungerford Town tonight, but the game is expected to be postponed due to a frozen pitch. Please check before travelling.
