BROTHERS Sean and Ryan Morgan got Hayes Academy off to a winning start with a victory over Wealdstone Corinthians on Sunday.

The pair led them home to a nine-wicket win after Wealdstone were restricted to 176-4 off their 40 overs.

Graham Morgan took 2-14 and captain Kevin Davis 1-5, while Arron Branch conceded just 17 runs in his five overs.

In reply, Hayes' openers put on a stand of 73 before Keith Wallis was dismissed for 80.

Morgan's unbeaten 75 put them within touching distance before his younger brother, Ryan, hit the winning runs with seven overs to spare.

Meanwhile, the U15s also started the new campaign with a bang with a cup win over Pinner.

Callum James top-scored with 29 as Hayes chalked up an impressive 107-1 off their allotted 20 overs.

Despite this total, Pinner were always ahead of the run rate until their opener was run out.

Needing 20 runs from the last four overs to win, Pinner had the upper hand.

However, tight bowling from Ryan Davis and George Painter, coupled with a pair of wickets from Danny White clinched a nail-biting three-run victory as Pinner finished on 104-6.
