Hillingdon AC built on their good start to the winter season by taking third place at the Horsenden Hill Relay competition organised by Ealing AC.
Harrow won the event in 1hr 16mins 41secs with Hillingdon, represented by Richard Mann (12mins 43secs), Paul Williams (13.29), Martin Bateman (12.46), Tony Grant (12.53), Andy Miles (14.31) and Richard Thompson (12.53), managing 1.19.08.
The B team of Noel Hall (14.57), Daniel Thompson (13.35), Paul Leppard (14.13), Simon Claridge (14.51), Brett Hutchinson (14.37) and Richard Jenkin (14.32), was eighth in 1.26.45 and was the leading B team. The D team recorded 1.28.02 for 11th place thanks to Kevin Waterman (15.51), Brian Leach (15.58), John Bignell (16.31), Tadg Grant (13.12), Kevin Yates (13.13) and Gavin Barclay (13.26), finishing ahead of the C team of Jason Steel (15.41), Steve Wicks (14.33), Dave Smith (15.34), John Doyle (17.48), Stevan Dokic (15.12) and James Laing (13.26), who managed 1.32.14.
Hillingdon Triathlete Melissa Arkinstall clocked 3.28.00 in the Abingdon Marathon while Roger Fowkes recorded his second win of the season, in the GRIM Off-road Duathlon in Aldershot.
Fowkes achieved the quickest cycle section and went on to cross the line five minutes ahead of his nearest challenger while his brother, Tony, finished ninth.
