MIDDLESEX PREMIER CRICKET LEAGUE T20 CUP PHASE ONE

Anson 105-9

Friends United 108-6

Friends United won by four wickets

FRIENDS United made a fine start to their Middlesex Premier Cricket League T20 campaign last week.

United recorded a four-wicket win over Anson to progress to the next phase of the newly-established competition.

Anson won the toss and decided to bat first, but some accurate bowling by Friends United’s attack meant they could only muster 105-9 in their 20 overs.

Dilesh Narotam took a brilliant 2-7 in two overs and Kirit Mohane took 2-19 in four for Friends.

In reply, Friends United started well as both openers Nirmal Ramgi and Piyush Vanraj scored 16 runs in first two overs.

However, two quick wickets meant Anson were able to force their way back into the match.

That was until a superb knock by Jalpesh Vijay (44 runs from 32 balls) and Dilesh Narotam (24 runs from 14 balls) meant Friends managed to get over the line with four wickets left.

Elsewhere, Rajput Samaj lost to West Harrow by seven wickets and DD Warriors defeated Lohana by the same margin.
