BRENTFORD boss Uwe Rosler is desperate for a FA Cup run to boost his January transfer funds.

The Bees set up a second round clash with Cambridge United or Wrexham after edging past Basingstoke Town on Saturday.

And he admits a run in the famous old trophy could give him room to manoeuvre when the transfer window reopens in the new year.

He said: “I'm pleased it's a home draw, but like we saw on Saturday, any team we play from League One, League Two or from non-league will be difficult.

“It gives us a good chance to progress to the third round where we can meet a Premier League team and generate more income.

“Our budget is tight, and if we can do well in the cup competitions we will be able to strengthen our squad in January.”
