Eastcote Colts U10s gave a good account of themselves at the Middlesex Championships.

Both the boys’ and girls’ A teams finished in third place on home soil.

En-route to the quarter finals, the boys beat Winchmore Hill & Enfield 6-0, Teddington B 2-0, Richmond 3-0 and Southgate 3-0 to finish top of their group, before narrowly losing to Teddington A in the quarter finals.

The boys’ B team narrowly missed out of the final stages of the tournament on goal difference, winning all their games bar one against eventual winners Sunbury & Walton.

The girls’ A team gave a number of impressive performances before losing their semi-final to Teddington but they went on to win their third-place play off against Sunbury & Walton, while the B team gave an equally good showing of themselves by only losing one game, against eventual winners Teddington A.

Eastcote Ladies were back in action this week and faced a tough fixture against second place Spencer, ultimately losing 3-1 despite a Sofie Castle goal.

Next week they face a double header, playing league leaders Surbiton on Saturday and facing Brighton on Sunday as they look to avoid the drop.

A league and cup double header meant a busy week for the men’s side who emerged 8-1 winners against Marlow 2nds on the Saturday but lost 8-2 away to Gore Court in the NOWhockey National Trophy.
