Ealing Swimming Club divided and conquered to make waves at recent prestigious competitions.

A second place in the second round of the Milton Keynes Junior League at Staines saw ESC pick up plenty of medals as well give rein to their youngest swimmers.

Jason Mahmutogli, 11, proved to be one of the star performers at the event. Mahmutogli was part of three winning relays teams but also shone on his own to take gold in both 50m fly and freestyle.

Maya Johnson, 12, also performed impressively with two silver medals around her neck after 50m free and breast.

On the same weekend, ESC success at the London Youth Games at Crystal Palace. Many in the club represented Ealing borough and proved to be pivotal in securing third against 32 other London boroughs.

The senior girls' team of Paige Powell, Anna-Mariya Dimitrova, Pooja Gupta and Sofia Tedeschi-Atkins were the outstanding performers for Ealing borough as they stormed to gold in both the 4x50m medley and freestyle relays.

The senior boys team relay of Ziggy Franchi-Webster, Joe Kelly, Aaron Pullen and Reef Hook also grabbed gold in their 4x50m freestyle. However they could not repeat the girls' double and had to settle for silver in the medley.

The boys, Pietro Lombardo, Luke Burton, Ossian O'Sullivan and Mahmutogli won a medal in the same colour.

Several also produced eye-catching performances in their individual events.

Franchi-Webster swam to silver in the senior 50m freestyle while Paige Powell took the silver in the senior 50m fly. Hook also achieved a personal best to take the bronze in the senior 50m back.

He did better the following day by taking gold in the LYG Aquathlon.

The Hatfield 'Summer Spectacle' provided further opportunity for the younger and older ESC swimmers to showcase their fine form.

Turkish International, Ekaterina Avramova, 23, put in the perfect preparation for her upcoming World Championships in Kazan, Russia by winning the 100m backstroke 'A' final in a time of 59.82. Avramova later added a further gold in the 100m free.

The surprise package was 13 year-old Brodie Judge. Despite being one of the youngest competitors, Judge qualified for the 'A' final of both the 100 and 200m free.

The star of the weekend for Ealing was nine year-old Rex Booth who took gold in each of his seven events: 50m back and breast, 100m fly, back, free and breast, 200m free.
