JOHN Sullivan has snubbed a move to AFC Wimbledon and joined League Two rivals Portsmouth instead.

The former Charlton keeper was offered a permanent deal by Dons boss Neal Ardley after a successful loan spell towards the end of last season.

However, the 25-year-old has rejected the chance to stay at Kingsmeadow and signed a two-year deal at Fratton Park instead.

Sullivan said: “I was down at Wimbledon for the final part of last season. It’s a great club and I owe them so much.

“But this is a great opportunity to come to a big club at the start of a new project. As soon as I heard of Pompey’s interest, it was an easy decision. This is where I wanted to come.”

Ardley added: “We made John the best offer we could.”
