DEFIANT Terry Brown insisted his AFC Wimbledon side didn’t deserve to be beaten against Bristol Rovers this afternoon.

Mustapha Carayol’s first-half solo effort handed all three points to The Gas on Saturday afternoon but the Dons put in a spirited display in the second period.

And Brown believes his team’s efforts after the interval warranted at least a point in difficult conditions at the Memorial Ground.

“I’m very disappointed with the result,” Brown said. “I felt we deserved something out of the game in the second half.

“Bristol Rovers came out of the traps. Carayol caused us problems and scored a fantastic goal, worthy of winning any match, and because we conceded our obligatory goal we were in for an uphill struggle.

“We desperately tried to get it down and play our stuff in the second half but it was very difficult on a boggy pitch like that. There was very little to choose between the two sides - Carayol made the difference.”

The Dons will look to get back on track when they face Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday night.
