NEAL Ardley has turned his attention to other transfer targets as Gary Alexander's Crawley Town future remains in the balance.

The former Millwall frontman bagged three goals in 18 games during a successful loan spell with the Dons, helping them beat the League Two drop on the final day of the season.

However, Alexander told the Chronicle last week that his future at the Broadfield Stadium remains uncertain , despite having 12 months to run on his deal.

But Wimbledon boss Ardley insists he has to press ahead with other targets instead.

“I love Gaz. I played with him at Millwall and he came in and did a great job for us,” he said.

“The effort he put in was phenomenal, so anyone would want him around.

“But he'll be reporting back to Crawley for pre-season training and I can't afford to wait and see what happens in case other targets slip through the net.

“I'm being as aggressive as I can with transfers to try and get things done.”
