CLAYTON Donaldson insists Brentford will prove the doubters wrong after they were snubbed in Sunday night's PFA awards.

Not a single member of Uwe Rosler's side were named in the League One Team of the Year, despite finishing third in the division.

However, 22-goal Donaldson, who was awarded Brentford's player of the year gong, has vowed to silence the critics and fire the Bees to play-off glory.

He said: “I was very surprised. We finished third, so I thought we would've got a mention.

“I think at least one of our team deserved some recognition. Simon Moore has been brilliant for us all season in goal and has made a lot of man-of-the-match performances, so it was bizarre he wasn't included. Harlee Dean also had a good shout to get in.

“When I was at Crewe I scored 29 goals and was the top scorer in the division, yet I never got in the team of the year either.

“I feel we've been overlooked again in favour of the so-called more fancied teams.

“The play-offs just give us another chance to prove people wrong.”
