A Hounslow schoolgirl will compete against the country's best divers over the next two weeks.
Robyn Birch, who attends Longford School in Feltham, will travel to Tunbridge Wells this weekend to take part in the GB Diving Federation Novice & Intermediate Championships.
And the following weekend, she will pitch up in Dublin to take on the cream of Britain and Ireland in the Irish Open Diving National Championships.
But November 18 will be the big day - that's when Birch will undertake a final assessment day ahead of embarking on a three-year programme with the London 2012 Fast-Track Diving Team, based at the National Sports Centre in Crystal Palace.
She will be assessed by UK Sport's Emyr Roberts, British Diving high performance director Steve Foley, Olympic coach Chen Wen and talent manager Katie Hazelton.
She and the rest of the Britain's best young divers will take part in dry gym exercises at Crystal Palace before travelling to Tunbridge Wells for a diving session.
As the Chronicle revealed earlier this month, year 10 pupil Birch is one of four Longford students enrolled on a special Talented Athletes Programme at the school.
Originally a gymnast, Birch used her agility skills to great effect after switching sports and already boasts a National Diving Skills Finals bronze medal.
